Obituary of Norman "Tom" Rentford Smith
A Celebration of Life for the late Norman (Tom) Smith will be held at Kersley Hall on July 1st from 2-5pm.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norman (Tom) Smith, a lifelong member of Quesnel, BC. Tom passed away on April 2, 2018 at the age of 80 in his home. Tom was born in Springhill, Nova Scotia on June 27, 1937. Tom worked as a hand faller (the best his family knew) for many years before transferring to West Fraser Laminators Plant where he remained until he retired. He always enjoyed spending time with his family, tinkering with his woodwork, farming and spoiling his grandchildren. Tom is survived by his wife Linda Smith, son Brian Smith (Kathryn), daughter Shelley Hay (Dave), grandchildren Sarah Rausse (Kevin), Travis Smith (Tyanna), Victoria Smith (Sacha), Kimberly Smith (Cody), Tattanna Smith, Jasmine Smith, great grandchildren Isabel, Linden and Jackson, brothers Larry Smith (Marie), Gary Smith (Loretta), Burton Smith, Harold Smith, sister Audrey Spence (Warren) and many nieces and nephews. It was Tom’s wishes to have a Celebration of life in the summer. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC. Tom will be missed by all but never forgotten.
