Obituary of Debbie Hanrahan
HANRAHAN, Deborah Lorraine (nee St. Germain) – Debbie passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep in the comfort of her own home on June 11, 2024.
She was an avid reader who loved spending time with friends and family. If she didn’t have a good book in her hands (or Kindle in her later years), she could often be found huddled over a backgammon or cribbage board, knitting, crocheting, or baking treats for the grandkids (and Wayne of course).
A kidney transplant survivor, her family is eternally grateful for the 3 extra years we got to spend with her. Despite her many health issues she faced over her final years, she never lost her sense of humour or her gift for making people feel special.
Predeceased by her parents George and Doreen, and brothers Danny and Ron (Val), she leaves behind her loving husband Wayne, children Michael (Lee-Anne) and Linda (Brad), grandchildren Jayden, Lane, Lucas and Jacob, siblings Laverne (Dave), Kathy (Harold), Lucille (Brent), Gerry (Bob), Chris (Simon), and Floyd, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
While Debbie loved flowers, she and her family would be much more grateful for donations to the Kidney Foundation (https://kidney.ca/donate) and/or registration as an organ donor (https://register.transplant.bc.ca/) in lieu of flowers to help give others the same opportunity for a second lease on life that she was given.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann’s Parish (100 Sutherland Avenue, Quesnel, BC V2J 2J5) on Saturday July 13 at 11:00 am with Celebration of Life to follow.
