Obituary of Dianne Louise Castle

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dianne Louise Castle of Quesnel, British Columbia. She passed away peacefully at G.R. Baker Memorial hospital surrounded by family and friends on March 5th, 2024. Dianne was born on March 30th, 1950, in Penticton, British Columbia to Bertha Jean Tann and Fremont George Warner. She lived with her parents, and brothers Gerry and Richard in Kinnaird, BC. The family moved to Blueberry Creek, BC in 1960 where Dianne attended Blueberry Elementary school and was later bussed to Stanley Humphries high school. In 1966, Dianne’s youngest brother Daryl was born into the family on August 27th.

Dianne met the love of her life Jerome Roderick Kenneth Castle in Trail, BC in 1967. They were married on January 13th, 1969. They lived in Cranbrook and then moved to Quesnel in 1972, where they had son Marcus in 1974 and daughter Carri-anne in 1975. Dianne attended college in Quesnel while raising her two children. When she finished her program, she got a job working in the office at Tolko Industries where she worked until she retired in 1996. Dianne and her close friend Carol Kinakin started their own painting company called “Painting Pals” in 2004 to 2008. They completed several private properties as well as numerous commercial properties. They would work hard and often end their day enjoying a few beers at the Red Bluff Inn with their husbands and many friends. Dianne enjoyed camping, fishing, and skiing. She also loved to travel, and she went to various places in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. In her later years, she and Jerry explored various communities in BC including the Nass Valley where they enjoyed taking in the First Nations arts and culture. They stopped at CFNR radio station in Terrace, BC where they met Wild William Wesley. Dianne loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Dianne was predeceased by her mother Bertha in 1986, her father Fremont in 1990, and the love of her life Jerry in 2022 after 54 years of marriage.
