Obituary of Doreen Kathrine Sharrott

Doreen Aveline Katherine Sharrott (Stolz) was born to Frank and Susan Stolz in Barthel Saskatchewan on December 23, 1938.

Mom married Fred (dad) in 1955. They lived on the Molyneaux family farm while raising their 4 children, Randy, Val, Karen and Maureen.

In 1969 the family moved to Quesnel, B.C. Mom got a job at G.R.Baker Memorial hospital, where she worked for 30 plus years.

Mom met Lee, eventually they married on December 24, 1975. They lived many happy years until Lee passed away on June 25, 2008.

Mom enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and flower gardens. She spent many hours canning, making jams and jellies which she loved to share with us all. She loved cooking and baking. We always looked forward to Moms home cooked meals throughout the years.  Mom also enjoyed country music, she would love to sing along and dance.

Mom had a lifelong friend Corky Zalay. They spent a lot of time together playing cards, quadding, fishing, picking berries until sadly Corky passed away.

In 2019 Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Thinking back the signs were there. Val moved in with mom to take care of her in her final years.

In October 2023 she was admitted to G.R. Baker Hospital, unable to function at home.

Mom passed away peacefully on January 1, 2024 with family by her side.

She will be lovingly remembered and missed.
