Obituary of Gary Donald Fox
OBITUARY OF
GARY DONALD FOX
It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Gary Donald Fox on November 14th, 2023 at the age of 80 yrs. He is survived by his loving wife Lana in Quesnel, oldest son Michael in Vernon, granddaughters Danielle, Alanna and Madison, and sister Marilyn (Ron)Gibson in Agassiz. His youngest son Brian was predeceased in 2016.
Gary was born Jan. 25,1943 in Trail, BC but grew up in Castlegar. He first worked as a welder then later became a heavy-duty mechanic. He worked for Mack Bros. Logging for 29 years until he retired.
Gary was a talented fabricator in all metal, wood and building construction projects. He could imagine it and then create it. Gary also really enjoyed driving his 1930 Model A pickup he had restored. He was often found driving it around Wells, Barkerville and sometimes Quesnel.
Gary enjoyed spending time outdoors, mining, hiking, exploring, fly fishing, riding dirt bikes and snowmobiling. Both Gary and Lana became very interested in Barkerville and area history many years ago. They were acknowledged along with a few others at a Barkerville ceremony for their dedication and hard work at re-discovering the original 1861 Goldrush Pack Trail from Keithley to Richfield.
Gary will be remembered for his witty charm and personality, sharp memory and willingness to help anyone out when they really needed it. He will be forever missed and loved.
Gary loved all animals. If anyone wishes to make a donation in his memory, please donate to Northern Lights Wildlife Society located in Smithers BC., or Quesnel SPCA.
