I’m a little late to comment as I only just learned of Ken’s passing but I would like to offer my condolences to all of Ken's family and friends. He will be missed by many who were connected to him in different ways. Much of the time I spent with Ken we were on skates enjoying some rec-hockey and sharing stories of past adventures and our thoughts on a wide variety of topics -his stories always amused me and would give me cause to reflect on my own life. His positive attitude and enthusiasm for being active were inspiring. For example, Ken would regularly meet me for shinny on Friday mornings and we’d skate for nearly two hours, then he would go out for a game with the old-timers group that same night -the next day he would go cross-country skiing. I took the attached photo at one of our shinny sessions last winter. As you can see in the pic Ken wasn’t too keen to have his picture taken but I know he was smiling on the inside because he was always happy to be on the ice. Rest in peace my friend.

Our thoughts are with Deb, family and friends. He will be missed. So very happy we were able to hang out with him when we were in Quesnel in 2022, showing hubby where I was born. We sat around a bonfire at Walter and Susan’s reminiscing some old times. He will be missed.

I knew Ken since our early teens. We worked, partied, and played hard. Ken was quite ambitious as a teen. When we were old enough to drive we hitchhiked to Vancouver and Ken bought his first car. We walked many miles up Kingsway Avenue looking at car lots and finally Ken spotted a 1948 Plymouth that he fell in love with and purchased it for $225. He drove that car for many years, I’m guessing 25.
When Ken turned 16 he got a job at the plywood plant and worked there until retirement. In his early 20s he purchased a nice piece of property and built his first family home which they have lived in until the present. That’s quite an accomplishment to build your own home at such a young age with only a little help from friends pounding nails on the weekends.
These are just a few of the stories I have to say about my old friend Ken.

I played hockey with Ken. He was a dedicated player never missed a chance to be on the ice. One of the most positive happy people I have ever met. His smile will be missed by all that knew him

As a boy Ken loved to hike and roam the woods and hills behind our place where we lived at Alexandra. His love for nature never wavered. Miss you bro. Rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed playing hockey with Ken! He was such a happy guy when he was on the ice and made everyone else enjoy the game when he was flying around the arena with a big grin on his face. Rest in peace Kenny.
