Obituary of Lois Geraldine Stevens

Lois Geraldine Stevens passed away on August 15, 2023, reuniting with her beloved late
husband of 53 years, Bill Stevens, who passed away in May 2023.

Lois was predeceased by her first husband, Heber Beal, and bravely raised her five
children single-handedly. She left her home and family in New Brunswick to travel
across Canada with her five children and marry Bill Stevens in 1970.

She learned to drive and became a taxi driver and then settled in as a cook which she was until health issues
forced her to retire.

Of her many adventures she got a bit role in a movie and met and cooked for many movie stars in Wells BC.

Her strong interest was in the Royal family, at 16 she travelled to Fredericton NB and almost got to touch the then young Queen Elizabeth.

It began a lifelong interest of hers, she began sending letters to the Queen when she was in Wells BC and got replies.

She had an impressive collection of cards, notes and pictures from Buckingham palace, which she loved share.

These stories and many more were told at the barbecues they held every summer in their tent, there was always an occasion to have a barbecue.

Lois was predeceased by her parents Albert and Doris Libby, her son Mark Beal, her
brothers Stephen Libby and Paul Libby.

She is survived by her daughters Lenora Beal, Rhonda Yager, Maureen Boerboom, brother
Freeman Libby, and sisters Helen Taylor, Mildred Ingersoll, and Harriet Dougherty. She
also leaves behind many grand and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

While Lois had her share of health and mobility challenges, those who knew her will
hold onto the memories she left behind.

May she rest in eternal peace.

A joint interment service for Bill and Lois will be held on October 30, 2023, at Tranquility Gardens at 3pm
Friends, family, and acquaintances are invited to join us as we gather to place Bill and Lois in their final resting place.
