I only met Joe and Marie while they lived in Blind Bay. At first they were our church friends but that soon changed
and we became bosom friends with wonderful dinners at their house and my husband Dave really enjoyed their
hunting and fishing trips at the cabin. I especially loved Joe’s homemade cabbage rolls. I just couldn’t get enough of them.
He gave me the recipe but mine were never as good! I loved the times we shared together and really missed you both after you moved. My Dave died on Mar.1st and I guess Joe decided it was time to join him. The good Lord decided to reunite them both
and now Marie you and I will live with the wonderful memories until we meet again in Heaven.
I loved the photos and the music.

We have been so fortunate to have had you as a neighbor and most of all a truly great friend. We have so many memories from Blind Bay, the get togethers, the great dinners, playing cards, and just knowing our friends were just up the street. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Marie, your children, and your grandchildren.

We have many wonderful memories of Joe in Blind Bay but especially at the cabin. We drove out to BC every summer and he always took us to his cabin in the woods. Lots of memories there with Joe and Marie. Loved you both. God bless you!

Joe was my senior brother by 13 years. Before I even started elementary school, he had left home to attend high school in Killaly and Yorkton. His Air Force career took him from coast to coast and therefore I only formed a real bond with him as an adult. I found him to be a soft spoken, calm and kind man who was always at the ready to help a friend. He truly lived his Catholic faith and was an inspiration to us all in this sometime crazy world. It was in those aforementioned attributes that he reminds me so much of our mom.
While living on Vancouver Island he completed “The Great Walk” several times. He convinced me to join him on this 63.5 KM trek between Gold River and Tahsis in 1998 and together we crossed the finish line! I will always retain that time in my memory with a lot of fondness. I will miss him.
He loved and was so very proud of his family and enjoyed a special bond with all of his grandchildren. My very deepest condolences to Marie and my nephews and nieces at the untimely passing of Joe...wrapping you all in heart hugs!

I knew a man he was the greatest man I've known in all my days. Then one day God called on him and now he's gone away. I miss you dad so very much and deeply it pains me. I will find strength I'll carry on I'll make you proud of me. Until the day we meet again I know waiting you will be, in paradise I'll see you there with arms wide open for me.

I still remember living in Holberg, going fishing in the new boat and catching that shark on the deepline. A loving father, tender and kind, what a beautiful memory you left behind.
