Obituary of Wilma Hilda Unrau
It is with profound sadness that the family of Wilma Hilda Unrau announce her passing on March 1st, 2022, at the age of 87.
Wilma was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, but she moved around quite a bit with her family for work.
She has lived in Ontario, Manitoba, and then she finally settled in Quesnel, British Columbia, in 1964 with her husband George and their 4 children.
Wilma has had plenty of jobs over the years including; berry picking, working in a cannery, a basket factory, sewing factory, a cashier, camp cook and lastly worked in the G.R Baker Memorial Hospital kitchen for 18 years before retiring.
Wilma loved to sew, knit, and she loved to tend to her garden.
She was always known for knitting her grandchildren socks and slippers for Christmas.
Wilma loved to dance, whether it be on the dance floor or in the kitchen.
She also loved to collect Salt and Pepper Shakers.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Vern (Bev), Howard and Debbie, her 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 38 years, George Unrau; her second partner of 21 years, Ernie Stuckleburger, her son, Wes; her siblings, Margaret, Peter, Edith, Abe, Johnny, Mary, Helen, Henry (Hank), Catherine, Herman and her twin brother William; as well as her parents: Peter and Edith Reimer.
A Celebration of her life will be on July 30, 2022 at the Quesnel Legion Hall at 1:30
