Obituary of Troy Allen Perlitz

It is with great sadness that the family of Troy Perlitz announces his passing on August 27, 2021 at the age of 41.  Troy is survived by his two daughters, Samantha Lyne Perlitz and Jessica Ruby Yvonne Perlitz.  Troy is lovingly remembered by his mother, Mona Helga Perlitz, and father, Donald Reuben Perlitz, and 5 siblings; Lisa Perlitz, Amanda Baker (Todd), Dustin Perlitz, and Tyler Perlitz (Amber), and nieces and nephews; Ashley, Amber, Nathanial, Owen, Riley, Phoenix, and Axel.

Troy was born in Grande Prairie, AB on October 15, 1979.  He lived in Valleyview, AB on a farm until he was 11 years old. In 1990, at 11 years of age, Troy moved with his family to Quesnel where he grew up on a ranch.  Troy learned many skills there, from being a great rancher, working with diverse animals, running machinery, and all levels of farm work.

Troy moved at the age of 17 to start working for a family friend in Vernon, BC.  After that seasonal job was completed, he decided to try out the oilfield by working for a company called Transline Pipeline for a few months until spring break where he found himself gravitating back to Quesnel with his family.  Troy got a job with C&C Wood Products soon after returning home.  He was with them for several years working his way into a shift supervisor.  While he was working at C&C in 2000, he met Peggy and started his family shortly thereafter welcoming Samantha in Oct of 2001 and then Jessica in Dec 2003.  He loved his daughters greatly. A few years passed before Troy and Peggy separated which launched them into co-parenthood.   After the girls got older, Troy decided to take on a shift work job with MachineX which worked internationally doing machining and millwrighting. Troy was an excellent machinist, millwright, and welder.  Troy’s daughters wanted him closer, so Troy took a supervisor role with C&C Wood Products again in Quesnel where he would be home every night.  He proceeded to work for them a few more years before he decided to take on a job working with Parallel Welding Fabrication Ltd. out of Quesnel, on shift work to a mill out of town.  Troy was the Lead Shift Supervisor for several years.  This past year the company promoted Troy to Operations Manager Canada out of the Quesnel office, so he could be home again.  This is were he remained until his passing.

Troy enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his shop, yard, and garden.  He loved chasing family when they borrowed his stuff and laughed about it while giving permission anyways.  He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and leisure drives to the countryside where a lake or river was involved.  He always was up for travelling. He was a great cook and Chief Griller on the BBQ, if you ask him.  He was always seen helping his family and friends on his days off.  Just this past spring, Troy dreamt of gold mining on his newly purchased claims.  Oh, and by the way, Troy loved women. He would let off his contagious laugh at this point.
