Obituary of Mary Veletia Marchant

Mary passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on August 12, 2021.

She is survived by her son Daryl (Anna), daughter Debbie (Jim), granddaughter Meghan (Mikalis) and great-granddaughter Aletheia.

Mary was predeceased by her parents Francis and Emma and her brother Joseph.

Mary was born in Georgetown, PEI. She spent her early years on the island and then moved to Montreal to train and work as a nurse in a VA hospital.  She met her first husband in Montreal and married in Edmonton shortly after.  The two moved several times and lived in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario.  After the couple divorced Mary spent many years in Edmonton with the kids before moving back to PEI to be close to her mother.  After her Mother passed she moved to Quesnel, BC to be close to her brother until his passing.

Mary was a long time resident of Donrovin Park Lodge and we appreciate the wonderful care she received there.  Mary was an avid painter and loved music, dancing and animals.

Cremation has taken place and an inurnment will take place in Quesnel at Tranquility Gardens on June 15th at 11:00 am. A short graveside service will be held at the inurnment by Father Vincent from St. Ann’s Catholic Church.  Also a mass will be said in her honour on August 30th at 9:00 am.
