Obituary of Eileen Hazard
The family of Eileen Hazard wish to announce her peaceful passing on Saturday October 17, 2020, at home, with family at her side.
Eileen was born on March 28, 1932, in Rocky Mtn House Alberta, to George and Lily Gray. Her siblings were Francis, Ann and Len.
When she was 13 years old her family moved to Quesnel. At the age of 18 she met the love of her life Edward Hazard and the couple were married October 20, 1950. Ed and Eileen farmed in the Richbar area and it was here they raised their family. This was also where many water fights, picnics, barbeques, holiday and birthday dinners were had, and for the family, the heart and soul of most of our happy childhood and grown up memories.
Eileen was always interested in teaching and became a substitute teacher for a few years once her own children had left home. She then became a volunteer helper at Richbar Elementary and at Redbluff Elementary. Here many children learned to read with her help.
