Obituary of Carolyn Roberta Grimm

Carolyn Roberta Grimm passed away at GR Baker Hospital April 2nd 2020 in Quesnel B.C. at the age of 89.

She was born July 20, 1930, in Longmont, Colorado, the daughter of Lewis and Luella Metcalf, and the seventh of ten children born to them.

She married John A. Grimm on June 1st 1949, in Fort Collins, Colorado and together they had four children, Roberta [Bobbi], Johnny, Rodney [Rod], and Rebecca [Becky].

In 1970, they uprooted their family, and moved to Canada, where they eventually settled in the community of Kersley, B.C.

For many years Carolyn worked alongside her husband, John, at their company, Grimm Heating and Sheet Metal where they met and made many beloved friends.  She enjoyed many activities in Kersley, attending ballgames, her passion for pottery, crocheting, shopping and an obsession for growing tomatoes.  Family and friends all have their own special memories of her.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother and father, all her brothers and sisters, Bobbi Grant [daughter], and John [husband].  She leaves behind her son Johnny and wife Collette, son Rod and wife Debbie, daughter Becky and husband Lanny, son-in-law Jack Grant. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, and twenty four great-grandchildren.

Thank-you to all the hospital staff, Dr. Martin, and Dr. Aziz .  A special thank-you to everyone at Maeford Place, also the Safeway Pharmacy staff.

Upon request there will be no service, honor her by enjoying life, family and friends.

In lieu of flowers you can donate in Carolyn’s memory to your favorite charity.

Life is short. Break the Rules.

Forgive quickly. Kiss slowly.

Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably and never regret

anything that makes you smile.
