Beverleigh Cassidy

Obituary of Beverleigh Suzanne Cassidy

Beverleigh Cassidy was born Beverleigh Suzanne Johnstone in Vancouver on February 4th, 1966 to Tom and Jean Johnstone. She grew up in Woodfibre, BC with her parents and brother, Tom. She met her beloved lifelong husband, Wayne in 1994 in Quesnel, even though they went to high school together and never interacted directly all the way through. After dating for only a few weeks, Wayne asked Beverleigh to marry him. She told him she didn’t want to get married again and it would take her getting hit on the head with a 2x4 for her to do it again. A few days after saying that, while she was walking down the street, as she passed the old Napa building and heard a loud “look out” followed by a board landing on the ground right in front of her. She took this as a sign from God that she should marry Wayne so she did and never looked back.

About three years after getting married Beverleigh and Wayne attempted to have a child, with no success. Then in 1998, shortly after giving up hope on having a kid, she found out she was pregnant with her first child, Aidyn. Then again in late 2000 she found out she was pregnant again with an impatient little one who just didn’t want to wait to enter this world, who showed up two months early, her daughter, Brogan. Beverleigh was one of the best mothers any child could have ever asked for. She loved her kids more than anything in the world and she did everything in her power and beyond it to show them that.

Even in the very end Bev kept her sense of humour, whether it was making jokes to liven the mood of those visiting or just for her own enjoyment. She made the best out of every situation. Even though she wasn’t dealt the best hand in life, she took it with a smile and brightened the day of those around her, even on some of her worst days.

Beverleigh Cassidy passed away very shortly after a prayer, while she was surrounded by her husband, both of her children and her adoptive parents on October 30th, 2019.
