Obituary of Wayne Blackburn Paley
Wayne was born in May, 1931 to Alec & Lizzie Paley at the family homestead on Tibbles Lake
in Baker Creek, BC. He was the fourth child and fourth son in Alex and Lizzie’s growing family.
His mom said he was the easiest delivery she had of her 7 children....
he made up for that in later years.
Growing up at Baker Creek during those years was a pioneer, ranch experience.
Hunting, riding, wrangling sheep, playing and rowing Grandad Tibbles around the lake on fishing days were just some of the daily chores.
Wayne attended the Baker Creek school from grade 1-6.
He was a nautral born and self taught musician, and could play many instruments, but mostly preferred the accordian.
As a young man, with a growing family, Wayne worked in Alberta for a time, as an oil driller and carpenter, but returned to Quesnel where he worked seasonally as a hunting guide and/or a camp cook.
In later years, Wayne enjoyed visiting with his sister, Mary, and his many friends and relatives in the Quesnel area.
He will be missed by all.
