Florence Voykin Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Florence (Flo) Voykin wish to announce her peaceful passing on December 20, 2018 in Quesnel, BC.
Florence was a strong and fierce woman at the young age of 86 who was born on November 18 to the late John and Natasha Lebedoff. She grew up with two brothers, Fred and Jack and one sister Pauly. Florence only married once during her life to her beloved Peter Voykin and is survived by their two loving children Evelyn (Allan) and Richard. She has three granddaughters Christina (Mike), Jennifer (George), and Melissa and three great grandchildren Hanna, Peyton, and Darien.
During a time that women should hold their tongue and not share their thoughts, Florence did quite the opposite for most of her life and her family learned that telling it like it is was, was one of the best gifts in life to learn. She always spoke the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear, with these words of encouragement, wisdom, and sometimes comfort, kept everyone she loved in line but in turn gave us a great gift to pass down to the next generation.
In her younger years she was a master in the kitchen and adored her garden (we all did too). She took great pride in feeding her family and welcomed others to the table and always ensured each of us had full bellies. For many of us, some of our greatest memories are sitting outside in the sunlight enjoying freshly plucked peas or chewing on sugar dipped rhubarb fresh from her garden.
A Celebration of Life for Florence will be held on January 04 (Friday) from 1-4pm at the Legion Hall
