Obituary of Leslie Leroy Odiorne

It is with great sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of Leslie Leroy Odiorne.  On February 16, 2024 he passed away with his son and daughter in law by his side.

Leslie was born in Ketchmoot, Tofield, Alberta.  He was the third born of 10 children, he was 10th generation. 

Leslie is survived by his son Grant and daughter-in-law Janice, granddaughter Leslie Marcia, great grandchildren Angela and Levi Littlechild, his sister Margaret (Bob) Merriam as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Leslie was predeceased by his son Craig Patrick Odiorne on October12, 1969, his wife Helen Mary Odiorne on August 1, 2017, his father Leroy Elmer Odiorne on December 2, 1970, his mother Vera Sarah (nee Hisey) in 1972, his sisters Edith, June, Gladys, Phylis, and Lily, and his brothers Jimmy, Arnold, and Victor.

Leslie was an exemplary worker and became very knowledgeable in all aspects of logging and milling.  At the age of 13, Leslie began his way to becoming an ingenious life time worker in the logging industry, including titles such as Faller, Yarding, Millwright, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Welder and Cat Operator.

This man “was truly a giant among men”, he was kind, generous and always willing and able to help all in need.
