Obituary of Thelma Mary Sawatsky

We are celebrating the life of Thelma Mary Sawatsky (nee Robbins), a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. Thelma passed away peacefully March 10, 2025 at the age of 84, with her faithful pup Kimmie at her side.

Thelma was born in Rorketon, Manitoba on April 27, 1940 to Hector and Henrietta Robbins. Today would have been mom’s 85^th birthday. Happy heavenly birthday mom.  She married Wayne Sawatsky, November 17, 1958 and they moved across Canada, finally settling in Quesnel.  Wayne passed away on Dec 25, 2017. They celebrated 59 years of marriage and had 2 sons and a daughter. 

Thelma will be remembered for her quirky sense of humor, her strong moral code, her love for her family and friends, her love for her dogs and country and gospel music.  In earlier years, she was an avid walker.  She was a wonderful caring person and a great listener and advisor.  Mom was the heart and soul of our family.  In her later years she found a relationship with Jesus and at 84 years of age she was baptized in 10 Mile Lake. 

Thelma is survived by her son Roland (Terry), son Donald (Kathy) and daughter Holly (Kelly), her eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was dearly loved and will be missed.
